Revelation 6 :5-6

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

I read that there was a farm bill last year that sought to control all farms in the US, and food growth (even back yard gardens). They wanted to make it illegal to save seeds, or do organic gardening. Everything was going to be controlled by the government...even your own backyard garden. I don't know if it passed...hope not. But imagine the government forcing you to use gm seeds and chemical fertilizers. They wanted to do this...control your food. That is really a wake up call.

"Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009"

Provision includes mandatory registration and inspection for “any food establishment or foreign food establishment engaged in manufacturing, processing, packing, or holding food for consumption in the United States,” and sets standard practices such as minimums for fertilizer use.

Any food that the agency deems “unsafe, adulterated or misprinted” can be seized and the food establishment or farm fined. It’s not clear how these foods will be deemed unsafe. The bills aim to industrialize farms, standardize farming practices, require registration and inspection for any one producing food, and make practices key to organic farming illegal. I am an organic gardener! In Germany GM food is not cool! But I find this very scary! The government trying to control food. I want a bigger garden to control my own food. And maybe the government can one day come and take it all away.
